Kathryn Selbert spent her childhood drawing and gardening in a seaside town that was burnt by the British long, long ago. She wanted to begin writing books while reading Roald Dahl’s stories in elementary school and really, really began to want to illustrate them when she found the books of Chris Van Allsberg.
After founding a botany club in high school and playing way too much violin, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, where she learned to love narrative art and graduated with a BFA in Illustration in 2009. Since then, she has been working to create fun, educational children’s art for the masses and cultivating her great personal passions for history and cooking.
