Constance Van Hoven worked for many years as a buyer and advertising copywriter for a chain of specialty toy and book stores in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. She left the toy business in 2002 to pursue her dream of writing books for children. In 2004 she received her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. She is the author of The Twelve Days of Christmas in Minnesota and Hello, Minnesota!
Prior to her career in the toy business, Constance was a teacher-naturalist at a nature center in her community and a tour guide at the historic home of Minnesota’s first governor. She enjoys bird watching, hiking, and exploring ghost towns in Montana where she now lives with her husband, and Peg, their extra-energetic Lab.
