Cait Levin grew up in the Midwest devouring books and trying her hand at writing her own (don't ask to see her work from those early days, it's embarrassing!). When not reading or writing, Cait was on the family computer, mostly playing games or chatting with friends. After graduating top of her class in high school, she went on to study English and Creative Writing at Barnard College of Columbia University, doing her junior year abroad at Oxford. Throughout her undergraduate studies she did internships for literary agents and ultimately an editorial internship for Random House Books for Young Readers. After graduation, Cait went into education and began teaching at a Pre-K through ninth grade school in Greenwich, CT. Her passion for education and technology led her to more technical parts of education, and she quickly became a coach and mentor to students and teachers in this space, leading the LEGO robotics club for lower school students and speaking at professional development conferences for teachers about technology in the classroom. In the summers, Cait earned her MA in English from Middlebury's Bread Loaf School of English, which also hosts a writer's conference every summer. Cait went on to become the library director at a boarding school and then the Director of Research and Instructional Technology at a school in Chestnut Hill, MA for several years, where she was part of the R+D (Research and Design) team that oversaw the school's maker-style space, as well as ran educational and technical programming for students and teachers in grades six through twelve. It was here she learned about RoboSub as she cheered for her school's team. In 2020 Cait pivoted out of education and began working for tech startups, which she still does today, giving her an inside perspective on what it's like to be a (often one of few) woman working in tech.
