Ahmad Joudeh was born in Damascus, Syria in 1990 as a stateless refugee and raised in the Yarmouk camp. Despite intense opposition from some family members and society in general, he attended dance lessons, often in secret. He trained at the Enana Dance Theatre from 2006 to 2015 and studied at the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts between 2009 and 2016. He also worked with SOS Children's Villages Syria, holding dance shows to raise funds and running dance workshops for orphans. Because of his dancing, he received death threats from extremists. The Dutch National Ballet invited Ahmad to the Netherlands and established the Dance for Peace Fund to support his living and study costs, and those of other dancers like him in the future.
Ahmad obtained Dutch nationality in 2021 and currently lives in Amsterdam.
