Nothing feels better than kicking your feet up with a book that sucks you in. Add a warm drink to the picture and it's pure perfection! These upcoming titles are guaranteed to leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling and a smile on your face.

Giddy Up, Unicorn! is a celebration of the special father-daughter relationship. It’s also a standout choice for any reader who values family representations featuring a big-hearted dad with tattoos, a refreshing depiction in children's literature.

My Friend Levar is particularly special because it comes from a debut Black author who shares his lived experience and admiration for LeVar Burton. As we celebrate Black joy and the importance of representation in literature, this story shines a light on friendship, imagination, and the enduring power of books.

Educators and parents alike will appreciate how this story promotes literacy and the joy of reading—both independently and as a family.

Now it’s time to engage curious little minds with STEAM picture books that are sure to create lifelong learners. These books cover an array of topics, giving readers all kinds of fun facts, such as how small and cute dinosaurs can be to how vast and beautiful space truly is.

World-class mammologist, Darrin Lunde celebrates the power of the small, something little readers can definitely relate to. Any fan of dinosaurs is sure to go crazy over the cuteness of the small ones in this nonfiction picture book, perfect for ages 3 to 7.

Paired with Ariel Landy’s accurately scaled adorable artwork, Darrin introduces a large dinosaur and matches it with a small one of the same type and shows how being small can be a benefit. There is even a size comparison illustration so readers can compare the big dinosaur with the small one.

If you aren’t familiar with Storytelling Math, this series brings together math, diversity, and the power of storytelling, sharing how math exists in children’s everyday lives.

The age-appropriate math is expertly developed. Making and using maps involves “translating” between the 3D world around us into a 2D representation of distance, direction, and location. It also involves the consideration of perspective of the person who will be using the map. In this case, Beto develops both these skills as he creates and refines his map for Cora to help her find a yummy treasure.

Pirates and tea partiers both will love this fun exploration of math as both Beto and Cora learn how to play together.

Ruth Spiro, the best-selling author of the Baby Loves Science series, has leveled up with this playful STEM picture book introducing readers and their grown-ups to the robotics world. Pro tips, speech bubbles, diagrams, and a glossary give curious kids even more knowledge. And the book speaks directly to young readers, empowering them to master the complex information while giving them tips on how to explain those concepts to adults.

Ruth always makes sure her books are properly vetted by experts, in this case, two roboticists reviewed for accuracy.

The story behind the creation of the James Webb telescope is a one-of-a-kind look at what science, technology, and ingenuity can accomplish. This nonfiction picture book shares that journey—the challenges, suspense, and success as they built prototypes, ran test after test, and faced design issues.

This book includes dual layered text, informative captions, diagrams, and a gallery of eye-captivating Webb images. It has also been expertly vetted by two key members of the Webb team. Unlocking the Universe is a must-have for anyone’s nonfiction collection.

We have a lot in store this fall for little listeners and their grown-ups. From vehicles to lunch dates to familiar faces, there are so many lap-ready reads from us this season.

Join a curious, vehicle-loving toddler who is waiting for one mode of transportation in particular: the school bus that will drop off his big sister after her day in class. This one’s the perfect read for toddlers who love all things that go and are excited to welcome their older siblings home after school.

There are many vehicle books out there for toddlers. Rightfully so, as it’s such a perennial favorite, but what makes this one special is that it goes beyond naming the modes of transportation and provides an unexpected and age-appropriate story arc that also underscores how difficult the transition to school can be for all family members, not just the student.

We Are Grateful Otsalihelinga: Seasons is a seasonally themed set of four mini board books.

Based on the best-selling, critically acclaimed picture book by Traci Sorell. A contemporary classic perfect for patrons in search of titles promoting gratitude and generosity, readers looking for Indigenous titles or works by BIPOC creators, or anyone looking for chunky reads for little hands by a star author.

We’re not done yet with Traci Sorell fun, as we also offer a board book adaptation of her wildly popular and decorated picture book, Powwow Day.

The sweet story is reimagined for a much younger audience and now offers a baby-and-toddler friendly introduction to powwows with colors, sound words, and a narrative that counts from one to ten.

It’s worth noting that there are still not enough Indigenous board books on the market, especially those that are contemporary and not holiday focused. Traci is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation and an active member of her community in her home state of Oklahoma.

This is a sophisticated board book that seamlessly introduces three concepts. It’s also a solid bet for seekers of fun read-alouds, colorful kid-friendly art, and contemporary Native stories.

Heroes in books serve as beacons of hope, guiding readers through challenges and inspiring them to confront their own obstacles. They remind us that even in the face of adversity, one can rise to the occasion and make a difference, making them essential to the fabric of storytelling and our own personal growth.

Nothing says brave more than someone breaking the mold and expressing their true selves. And yes, that includes robots!

Get ready to dive into a delightful journey with ARTificial Intelligence—a funny and heartfelt picture book that explores the colorful intersection of AI, art, and creativity.

David Biedrzycki’s vibrant and energetic illustrations captivate readers with goofy robots, slapstick humor, and little surprises on every page. This book is perfect for reluctant readers. Its fast-paced action and cheeky humor draws in even the most hesitant of audiences.

Saving Kenny is a powerful middle-grade novel by Corinne Gaile. Set against a backdrop of family turmoil and domestic violence, Kenny and his siblings strive to break free from their painful reality and pursue their aspirations. This heartfelt coming-of-age story is not just about escaping—it’s about resilience and transformation.

With the rise of domestic abuse since Covid, librarians are seeking stories like this to engage young readers, especially in underserved communities. Corinne treats this heavy subject with alluring prose that captivates readers, making tough emotions accessible without losing the story's heart.

As part of the Charlesbridge Moves imprint, this book is designed for reluctant readers, particularly boys, and encourages open discussions about tough topics in a safe and approachable way.

Radar and the Raft isn’t just a history lesson; it’s an exhilarating adventure filled with suspense, bravery, and the power of science. As two different narratives intertwine, readers see how radar technology becomes a beacon of hope for the Bell family—who find themselves adrift in the ocean with fourteen other survivors after their ship is sunk by a German U-boat.

Jeff Lantos's impeccable research is backed by stunning archival photographs and captivating illustrations from veteran illustrator Alan Marks, making this book not just informative but visually engaging too.

With its curriculum connections, Radar and the Raft is a must-have for classrooms, libraries, and any young reader eager to dive into the depths of WWII history and science.
